The honest answer: it depends on fault
Before anything else, work out who caused the accident. If it wasn't you, the cost may not be yours to carry at all. If it was, there are still smart ways to manage it.
Option 1 — Recover the cost from the at-fault driver
If another driver was at fault, you can pursue them (or their insurer) for your repair costs — even if you have no comprehensive policy of your own. You'll need their details, your evidence, and a clear, itemised repair quote. We're happy to provide a professional quote to support your claim.
Option 2 — Pay privately, and fix what matters first
If the repair is yours to fund, you don't have to do everything at once. We can split the work: structural and safety-critical repairs now, cosmetic items like minor dents or paint blending later. You get a safe, roadworthy car without the full bill up front.
Option 3 — Prioritise safety, stage the cosmetic work
Ask for a staged quote. We'll clearly separate 'must-do-now' from 'nice-to-have', so you can make an informed decision about what to spend and when. Nothing gets done without your say-so.
Keeping the cost down
A few honest levers can reduce a private repair bill: repairing a panel rather than replacing it where it's safe to do so, using quality aftermarket or recycled parts where appropriate, and focusing on function over finish. We'll always talk you through the trade-offs so you can choose.
